I’m honored to announce that two of my favorite photos from the past year placed in the top 20 for their categories in the Q3 2010 contest of the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (AG|WPJA).
The first winning image from the Getting Ready contest category was shot at Jacque & JJ’s Wedding Backyard Irish Wedding. This is one of those times where I saw the finished print in my mind as I was taking the the photo. I knew that to make it sing was going to require some additional processing to highlight her silhouette, eliminate some distracting elements, and control the color. I’m really pleased with the result:
The other winning image was in the Reception category. It was taken at Aimee and Jason’s Nantucket Wedding. Aimee did most of the design of the wedding herself, including finding a gorgeous Indian tent. When it came time for her and Jason to dance, I wanted to show them dancing under the stars.
